Luciano Pavarotti
He died this Thursday, 5am in Modena, Italy. He was 71.
I am somewhat disturbed by this news because Pavarotti was an inspiration to me. I considered him a very admirable bear and he’s probably one of he reasons how I started liking bears.
When I was young, I remember being excited watching his performances in Betamax. My uncle would record his performances and interviews. I end up watching the videos so many times.
I regret I never saw him perform live. I never had the chance.
Back in the 90’s, he did perform once in Manila. Tickets were expensive so only rich people could watch him. What’s funny, I remember, was that he was sick and he had to perform days after the scheduled concert. People were already in the theater. The rich ladies wearing fancy gowns were pissed because they had to wear the outfit again when he was fit to perform.
I will miss you Luciano Pavarotti. You have been an inspiration.
